Al-Azhar Sheikh welcomes The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei fatwa

Al-Azhar sheikh met with Iranian official to welcome the fatwa by The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei and stressed the enhancement of Shia-Sunni relations.

Shaikh Ahmad Al Tayyeb, grand sheikh of Al-Azhar met with Mojtaba Amani, director of the office for Iranian interests in Cairo welcoming fatwa by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic which banned any desecration of Sunni sanctities, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Iranian official referred to the visit and said Sunni Muslims do not excommunicate Shia and follow a Shia prayer leader.

Mojtaba Amani in this meeting explained the fatwa issued by The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, forbidding the desecration of Sunni sanctities which was welcomed by Ahmad Al Tayyeb.

Amani called building hussainiya as a domestic issue of Egypt and that they would never interfere in solving similar issues.

This meeting was held following the issue of fatwa by Ahmad Al Tayyeb saying that building any place rather than mosque or the house of God is forbidden.
