Al-Halqi inaugurates development projects valued at SYP 5 billion in Hama

Prime Minister, Dr. Wael al-Halqi inaugurated a number of vital and development projects at an overall value of SYP 5 billion in Hama province.

The projects included the inauguration of Salhab power-transfer plant at a value of SYP 4 billion, laying the cornerstone for two residential towers in Jibreen neighborhood at a cost of SYP 443 million, a waste disposal project and road projects in al-Sabil neighborhood in Hama city at a value of SYP 450 million and a school in al-Sabil neighborhood at a cost of SYP 104 million.

Al-Halqi ordered that amounts of money be earmarked to improve services to citizens in all sectors in the province, including SYP 350 million for the independent budget, SYP 150 million for administrative units and development projects, SYP 75 million for road projects at Hama city Council, SYP 75 million for the waste disposal and sanitation projects, and SYP 20 million for Salamiya city council.

The Premier also dedicated SYP 15 million to be disbursed for seasonal projects “job opportunities”, SYP 100 million for subsidizing industrial cities’ projects and SYP 100 million for rehabilitating engineering vehicles and equipment.

In statements to journalists, Dr, al-Halqi said the tour is aimed to get a hands-on look at the living conditions and services provided to citizens in Hama province.

The premier underlined the necessity of improving the productivity of the public sector to provide the basic goods for citizens and curbing imports for not depleting foreign currency.

The stage of reconstruction in Syria has been set in motion, al-Halqi said, adding that the government has developed relevant current and future plans and seeks to invigorate development sectors so as to keep pace with the requirements of the current stage.

Al-Halqi underlined the government’s efforts for confronting the economic warfare against Syria and the systematic destruction of the state’s potential, through consolidating national economy and providing food stuff and oil products.
