Ayatollah Khatami: US, Britain main human rights violators

Tehran’s interim Friday Prayer Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami, has noted that the US and Britain are the main human rights violators.

On the verge of the 30th anniversary of an explosion at the Islamic Republic Party headquarters and martyrdom of a number of Islamic Republic of Iran’s senior officials by the MKO terrorist outfit, Ayatollah Khatami said that the US and Britain are among the first states that excluded this terrorist outfit from the list of terrorist groups.

In further remarks, he referred to martyrdom of 12,000 people in Iran and 25,000 people in Iraq in the hands of MKO, while underlining that the US and Britain, through their support for MKO terrorist outfit, are the main violators of human rights.

Furthermore, Ayatollah Khatami referred to military presence of US in Iraq and Afghanistan, naming an insatiable thirst for occupation as the reason behind this military presence. He called on all the freedom-loving nations to expel the occupiers from their countries through steadfastness, in order to maintain their honor and dignity.

Ayatollah Khatami added that the US announces to Afghan administration that if the Afghan government wants security of this country to be maintained the US should establish military bases in this country. Moreover, the US is also making strenuous efforts to continue its military presence in Iraq despite the end of the deadline on the presence of US troops in Iraq.

Moreover, Tehran’s interim Friday Prayer leader termed the crimes committed by Saudi occupation troops in Bahrain

as ruthless, while adding that Aale Khalifa regime, with the support of Aale Saud regime, also detains and prosecutes nurses and physicians, and these crimes are against international rules and regulations.

Ayatollah Khatami further considered Libya’s incidents as the major mischief of the US and Western regimes, while adding that NATO, through bombardment of Libya’s infrastructure, intends to appoint a Western-dependent regime, and to plunder this country’s oil reserves.
