Amir-Abdollahian: Iran to Provide Ongoing Spiritual and Political Support for Palestinian People and Resistance Groups

Iran has reiterated its dedication to the Palestinian cause, and declared that it will remain supportive of the Palestinian resistance against the oppressive actions of the Zionist regime.

In an early Monday phone call between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Gaza Strip-based Hamas resistance movement, a remark was made by the former.

In a meeting with the ambassadors of the Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Iran’s top diplomat reaffirmed the remarks made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei that the Islamic Republic will remain committed to providing spiritual and political support for the Palestinian people and resistance groups.

At a Saturday gathering with Muslim envoys in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei declared that the Muslim world should concentrate on bolstering Palestinian combatants as Israel is quickly moving toward its conclusion.

The Leader declared that the Zionist regime is presently in a state of gradual decrease, with its rate of decline intensifying day-by-day. He then further suggested that the plan of action of the Islamic world should be concentrated on bolstering the fighting elements within Palestine.

Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Ayatollah, remarked that the more the Palestinian youth’s resistance grows, the weaker and more apparent the iniquities of the Zionist regime will be. He further asserted that the current plight of the Zionist regime is a direct consequence of this resistance.

The leader of the political wing of Hamas reiterated the determination of the Palestinian people and armed groups to continue resisting the aggression of the Israeli government.

Haniyeh expressed his approval of the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to reestablish diplomatic ties, noting that this will be beneficial to both countries and the whole region.

He stated that the Zionist regime is highly perturbed by the agreement.

After seven years of estrangement, Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to resume their diplomatic relations on March 10, following intensive negotiations hosted by China. The two countries will be reopening their embassies and diplomatic missions.

In their joint statement after signing the agreement, Tehran and Riyadh emphasized the importance of respecting each other’s national sovereignty and avoiding interfering in the other’s internal affairs.

In April 2001 and May 1998, they agreed to implement a security cooperation agreement and another accord respectively, in order to increase cooperation in economic, commercial, investment, technical, scientific, cultural, sports, and youth affairs.
