‘Anonymous’ hacks Turkish government websites

Anonymous

A group of ‘Anonymous’ hackers have targeted Turkish government’s websites for retaliation on police crackdown on protesters in Istanbul.
Public access to Abdullah Gül, Turkish president’s website, the ruling Justice and Development Party, the National Security Agency in Istanbul and the Sheriff’s office previously inaccessible, became accessible for the public, but they were hacked.

Some of the news websites in Turkey were also attacked due to poor coverage of these events.

Thousands of Turkish protesters again returned to Taksim Square in Istanbul Sunday evening, stressing, the fight against the policies of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would continue.

Thousands of protesters surrounding the office of Erdogan in Istanbul’s Besiktas neighborhood on the European side of the Bosporus Strait clashed with police.

Earlier Saturday, one hundred thousand demonstrators gathered in Taksim Square, asking for Erdoğan’s resignation. The demonstrators also called the Erdoğan government a ‘fascist.’

Amnesty International has also condemned the Turkish police actions resorting to violent methods to control the protesters.
