Ansarullah issued a strong condemnation of what it describes as a ‘treacherous Israeli aggression’ targeting Syria

Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement has issued a strong condemnation of what it described as "treacherous Israeli aggression" targeting Syria, in the wake of the Syrian government's downfall.

Ansarullah issued a statement on Sunday expressing significant concern over Israeli actions in Syria. The group highlighted the occupation of additional territories and villages in Quneitra and Mount Hermon by Israeli forces, alongside intensified airstrikes targeting the city of Damascus.

The statement criticized the recent Zionist actions against Syria, labeling them as a criminal aggression. It further described the actions as a clear violation of Syrian sovereignty and a direct assault on its territory and critical infrastructure.

Ansarullah has asserted that the offensive seeks to establish a new status quo in Syria by taking advantage of the nation’s challenging conditions.

The statement expressed steadfast support for Syria in confronting Israeli hostilities and cautioned Arab and Islamic nations about the potential consequences of their lack of response to this significant escalation in tensions.

The group has issued a warning that the aggression “could potentially transcend existing borders and spread to other nations within the region, given the ongoing support from the United States and Western nations for the Zionist entity’s plans to establish Israeli and American dominance in the area.”

On Sunday, armed factions spearheaded by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched an offensive on the Syrian capital of Damascus, successfully taking control of the city. In response, President Bashar al-Assad announced his resignation and called for a peaceful transfer of authority.

Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, the leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), announced on Sunday that Syrian state institutions will come under the supervision of Jalali as the country moves towards a power transition.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) announced its intention to cooperate with the prime minister and urged the Syrian armed forces in Damascus to refrain from involving themselves with public institutions.

Israeli military aircraft launched a fresh series of airstrikes on Damascus and various other regions within Syria over the past few hours.

According to security sources, Israeli aircraft conducted strikes on the al-Mazzeh military base in Damascus and the Khalkhalah area in southern al-Suweida on Sunday.

In a recent escalation, military aircraft targeted a significant security complex in Damascus’ Kafr Sousa district, while simultaneously carrying out airstrikes on multiple residential regions situated on the outskirts of the Syrian capital.

Reports indicate that a series of loud explosions reverberated through Damascus in the aftermath of airstrikes.

Reports have emerged of assaults in the rural regions of Daraa, located in the southern part of the country. The strikes targeted sites believed to be weapon depots, air defense installations, and missile production facilities.
