Dozens of Palestinians were wounded as Israeli occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and assaulted worshippers in the holy complex.

Al-Manar correspondent in al-Quds reported that Israeli Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel, backed with dozens of Zionist settlers and other dozens of Israeli occupation forces, stormed the holy mosque shortly after dawn to celebrate the so-called “Jewish New Year”.

Israeli occupatiopn forces attack Al-Aqsa MosqueIsraeli occupation forces (IOF) forced the Palestinian worshippers to get out of the holy compound, as they destroyed the windows of al-Qibli Mosque (which lies near Al-Aqsa Mosque in the holy compound) , our correspondent, Deeb Hourani added.

He said that the IOF also seized the firefighting equipments in al-Qibli Mosque, where peaceful Palestinian insisted to stay and prevent the Zionists from desecrating the holy compound.

The occupation forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets and stun grenades on peaceful worshippers, Hourani added.

Dozens of Palestinians were injured in the Israeli assault, including a child who was hit with a rubber-coated bullet in his chest, according to our correspondent.

The occupation forces also assaulted employees of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowment, including Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani the director of the compound, Hourani said.

Meanwhile, international news agencies adopt the Israeli story of the attack, which says that clashes between Palestinians and occupation forces erupted after “police were pursuing Palestinian suspects who had barricaded themselves in and who responded by throwing rocks and fireworks,” BBC reported.

However, Ai- Manar correspondent firmly denied such reports, stressing that the Palestinian worshippers are peaceful and have nothing to confront the occupation forces with but their bodies.
