Arab nations issued a warning that Trump’s suggestion for the relocation of Palestinians could jeopardize peace in the region
Leading Arab nations have voiced their strong opposition to a proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump that suggests the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and the occupied West Bank to neighboring Egypt and Jordan, regardless of the circumstances.

In a unified declaration issued after a summit in Cairo, the foreign ministers and representatives from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Palestinian Authority, and the Arab League articulated a collective position opposing the US president.
Officials cautioned that this development could jeopardize stability in the region, potentially escalating the conflict and diminishing chances for peace and coexistence among its communities.
The statement clearly articulated a firm stance against any endeavors to undermine the inalienable rights of Palestinians. This opposition includes actions such as settlement activities, evictions, annexations, or displacing landowners, regardless of the form, circumstances, or justifications.
The senior diplomats expressed their anticipation of collaborating with the Trump administration to pursue a fair and comprehensive peace agreement in the region, according to reports.
Former President Donald Trump announced last week that he held discussions with King Abdullah II of Jordan regarding a proposal to construct housing and relocate over 1 million Palestinians from Gaza to adjacent countries.
The President of the United States expressed a desire for Jordan and Egypt, neighboring the conflict-stricken enclave, to accommodate Palestinians displaced by 15 months of what he described as the Israeli regime’s genocidal conflict.
Critics have raised concerns, stating that former President Trump’s proposal could effectively amount to ethnic cleansing.
On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed firm opposition to the notion that Egypt might facilitate the relocation of Gazans. He stated that Egyptians would likely protest in the streets to demonstrate their displeasure with such a proposal.
On Thursday, former President Donald Trump asserted that Egypt and Jordan would agree to take in displaced Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. This statement comes despite both nations having previously rejected the notion of relocating Gazan residents within their borders.
