Iraqi popular forces thwarted the terrorists’ plot to destroy a dam in the Central city of Samara by exploding three bomb-loaded vehicles.
“The popular forces managed to foil the plot to blast Samara dam with three bomb-loaded vehicles near al-Howaish district in Samara, 40km South of Tikrit, in an operation in the last 24 hours,” an official from the information center of Iraq’s popular forces, Ali al-Saray, told FNA on Tuesday.

According to Saray, the terrorists had hidden 500kg of powerful explosives in the cars, but the popular forces defused them without any damage or fatalities.

In a relevant development on Tuesday, Iraqi troops struck a major blow at the ISIL Takfiri group in the city of Tikrit, Salahuddin province, killing several terrorists.

The army troops raided the hideouts of the rebels in Northern Dujail district, South of Tikrit, and managed to claim the lives of more than seven terrorists.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control a shrinking part of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
