Zarif dubs US unreliable in talks

Iran’s chief negotiator has said on Twitter “No amount of spinning can change what happened in Genève.”

Mehr News reported that reacting to Kerry’s false account of the negotiations, Mohammad Javad Zarif posted on his twitter page that “No amount of spinning can change what happened within 5+1 in Geneva from 6PM Thursday to 545 PM Saturday, But it can further erode confidence.”

In another twit Zarif addressed his US counterpart. “Mr. Secretary, was it Iran that gutted over half of US draft Thursday night? And publicly commented against it Friday morning?” he twitted.

Zarif told the Special Report of Iran’s state TV Channel 2 analysis program that Powers developed discord during 3 days of negotiations in Genève. He speculated that less than a year would be enough time to solve nuclear crisis, unless the Western side did not seek pretexts.

In response to Bahraini foreign minister’s remarks, Zarif made a subtle insinuation on Persian Gulf Arab states. “They had better not to fear, since the recent talks and future negotiations are about Iran’s nuclear issue, not about relations with the US,” implied Zarif.

“ I wonder why would the Persian Gulf states suddenly be disturbed; they would frown on their old friends,” said Zarif “ we would tell them not to be disturbed since Islamic Republic’s foreign policy priority is its neighbors. Iran, as the greatest and strongest country in the region would care for its neighbors’ interests and we believe that insecurity in our neighbors would cost our own insecurity. These negotiations have not to do with Arab states’ concerns.”

Kerry’s contradictory remarks in recent two days in interview to ABC and his visit to Abu Dhabi would suffice to prove the US unreliability, since he has dared to prevaricate before six countries, and alleging Iran in the failure of the negotiations.
