Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening.
According to IRNA, Kurz, who is in Tehran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, is to meet him on Sunday to discuss international, regional and nuclear issues during his 2-day visit.
The two foreign ministers are to attend a press conference after their meeting on Sunday.
Kurtz is also scheduled to discuss issues of mutual interest with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.
The visit aims to prepare ground for the visit of Austrian President Heinz Fischer to Tehran following the invitation of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.
Austria has hosted the latest three rounds of negotiations between Iran and Group 5+1 and the next round of talks will also be held in Vienna on May 13-14, 2014.
Kurz, 27 years old, who was appointed to the post in 2013, is the youngest minister in the Austrian cabinet.
