Awqaf condemns occupation’s desecration of Quran & assault on captives

Gaza- Awqaf and Religious Affairs Ministry denounced the racist cruel methods through which the Zionist occupation soldiers treat the brave Palestinian captives and which are based on beating and torture on the one hand, and solitary confinement on the other.

In a statement, Awqaf also condemned the act of throwing the Quran on the ground by the occupation’s gangs and treading on it with their dirty feet after assaulting the prisoners and transforming Section 4 in Nafha prison to a solitary confinement.

The Ministry of Awqaf considered the occupation soldiers’ desecration of the Holy Quran and their attack on the prisoners as a clear disregard of the feelings of Muslims all over the globe. It also called on people of the Arab and Islamic nations to defend their Holy sacred Book, which represents their constitution and to support the detainees. Besides, Awqaf appealed to the OIC and the Arab League to take strong and bold positions about this criminal act.

It further stressed that the Zionist onslaught targets Palestinian people, their religion, their history, their geography and all that is Islamic or Arabic in Palestine, emphasizing on the need to support prisoners who are showing steadfastness and the Palestinian people who is resisting the tyranny and the oppression of occupation
