Baarini: Martyr’s Day, A Day of Honor and Pride

Head of the Akkari Popular Gathering former MP Wajih Baarini said that Martyr’s day is a day of honor and pride, and a new life written to the land with the blood of our courageous martyrs.
“Those are the martyrs whose blood was shed for the sake of their country, its dignity and glory.” Baarini noted.

Former MP added “Every year on the eleventh of November, the sun of freedom and heroism rise over Lebanon, and the banners of honor, victory, and pride are raised high. It is the sweat of peasants and the sacrifices and blood of Mujahideen in their confrontation to the Zionist enemy on the altar of freedom that led to Lebanon liberation from occupation.

Baarini talked about the first martyrdom operation, that of self-sacrifice martyr Ahmad Kassir “The operation of Ahmad Kassir on 11-11-1983 on the “Israeli” military governor’s building in Tyr was the beginning of the fleet of martyrs, those martyrs of the Islamic Resistance. That day was the beginning of Martyr’s day; it is the beginning of a new life and not its end.” Baarini quoted the Quranic verse “Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least.”

Head of the Akkari Gathering went on to say “All of these are the soldiers of the Islamic Resistance and the men of God, they work to meet Allah the exalted.”
