Bahraini people continue protest the Western-puppet Al Khalifa Regime

n00126379-bThousands of Bahrainis staged rallies near the capital, Manama, on Friday to demand reforms in the tiny Persian Gulf island.

Demonstrators took to the streets in the village of Bilad al-Qadeem, Southwest of the capital, shouting slogans against the prime minister and other Al Khalifa regime officials.

“Khalifa! Step down,” chanted protesters, referring to the King’s uncle who has held the premier’s office since 1971 and is widely unpopular in Bahrain.

“Bahrain is in need of a large political plan…that takes the country into a new stage based on the rule of the people, not the rule of one family,” opposition groups said in a statement following the protest, press tv reported.

Anti-government protesters have been holding peaceful demonstrations across Bahrain since mid-February 2011, calling for an end to the Al Khalifa dynasty’s over-40-year rule.

Violence against the defenseless people escalated after a Saudi-led conglomerate of police, security and military forces from the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) member states – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar – were dispatched to the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom on March 13, 2011, to help Manama crack down on peaceful protestors.

So far, tens of people have been killed, hundreds have gone missing and thousands of others have been injured.
