Bahrainis Vow to Continue Protests until Materializing all National Demands

A senior Bahraini opposition figure underlined that people in his country are resolved to continue protests until they see a materialization of their righteous demands and aspirations.

Speaking to FNA, member of the central committee of the National Democratic Action Society of Bahrain Ebrahim Kamaladdin said a large-scale intifada (uprising) is underway in Bahrain where people are insisting on their demands in numerous rallies and protests.

“Despite the security forces’ attacks on the protesting people, nowhere in Bahrain is free from popular peaceful protests,” Kamaladdin stated.

The revolution will be continued until a full materialization of the people’s demands, he stated.

Earlier this week, Bahraini security forces violently broke-up a protest in the Persian Gulf kingdom’s capital, using tear gas to disperse the marchers.

U.S-backed the Bahraini security forces fired teargas at the protesters on the eve of the first anniversary of the country’s revolution, arresting dozens of the people.

U.S-backed the Bahraini forces also laid siege to several villages across the country, including Bilad al-Qadim near Manama, where heavy clashes erupted between the regime forces and the protesters.

Anti-government protesters have been holding peaceful demonstrations across Bahrain since mid-February 2011, calling for an end to the Al Khalifa dynasty’s over-40-year rule.

Violence against the defenseless people escalated after a Saudi-led conglomerate of police, security and military forces from the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) member states – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar – were dispatched to the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom on March 13, 2011, to help Manama crack down on peaceful protestors.

So far, tens of people have been killed, hundreds have gone missing and more than 1,000 others have been injured.
