Bahrain’s Shiite opposition bloc to quit parliament

Thousands of Bahrainis chanted for a change of regime and a “real constitutional monarchy” in the pro-Western kingdom on Wednesday as they buried a fourth protester killed in clashes with police.

After the funeral, large crowds poured on to capital Manama’s Pearl Square, where the atmosphere was relaxed, even festive as the police stood aside.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s largest Shiite opposition bloc intends to quit parliament, one of its MPs said Thursday after four people were killed when police violently broke up an anti-regime protest in Manama.
