Gen. Jaafari: Iraq, Popular Forces Strong enough, They do not Need Iranian Boots in Mosul or Raqqa

IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jaafari said Thursday that Iran has not deployed forces in Iraq’s Mosul as the Iraqi forces are operating powerfully needless of any foreign forces.

Speaking on the sidelines of a military conference in Teheran, Jaafari hailed the Iraqi government and military for their powerful performance in Mosul.

He underlined that Iranian youth are very enthusiastic to fight against terrorists in Syria and defend the Holy Shrines, as defending them signals defending the Resistance Front and Islamic Revolution, however, it is unauthorized unless they use unofficial ways to reach the battleground.

Asked on IRGC’ response to possible violation of JCPOA by US, Jafari said IRGC is a part of Iranian government and would follow and support the decisions made by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the government and the Parliament.

On Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed the Islamic Republic won’t keep mum if the United States proceeded to renew the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) which expires at the end of 2016.
