Iran will give forceful response to any territorial violation: Cmdr.

Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says the Iranian naval forces will respond with utmost power to any act of aggression against the country’s territorial waters.

“We [Iranian Navy] will respond with full force to any aggression against the country’s territorial waters,” Sayyari said on Sunday.

Referring to recent instructions to the Navy by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Sayyari stated that directions set by the Leader during the past 30 years have started a new chapter in making use of the marine resources by the Iranian Navy which should be followed diligently.

Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Friday that the Iranian military had repelled an unidentified aircraft that had entered the country’s airspace “above the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic in the Persian Gulf.”

Vahidi’s comments came after the Pentagon claimed that two Iranian warplanes had fired at a US drone last week as it conducted a “routine, but classified surveillance mission over the Persian Gulf about 16 nautical miles off the Iranian coast.”

On Friday, Deputy Chairman of Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said the Iranian Armed Forces would “firmly” respond to any air, ground and sea aggression.
