Democratic Korean President stresses absolute solidarity with Syria

Democratic Korea’s President Kim Jong Un affirmed his country’s absolute solidarity with Syria in the face of imperialism, adding that the US and Israel will never be able to defeat Syria.

President Jong Un’s remarks came during a meeting with a delegation of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) chaired by its Assistant Secretary General Abdullah al-Ahmar in Pyongyang.

The BASP delegation is on a visit to Democratic Korea to participate in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Democratic Korean people’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

President Jong Un expressed during the meeting his greetings to President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian people, noting that the Syrian participation in the celebrations constitutes a great encouragement for the people of Democratic Korea.

He voiced condemnation of all forms of foreign interference by the international imperialism in Syria’s internal affairs, warning that if the aggression on Syria continues, it would drag the entire Middle East into a conflict of severe consequences that would threaten the international peace and security.

The Democratic Korean President stressed his country’s confidence that Syria will come out of the crisis victorious thanks to the unity between the Syrian people, army and leadership.

BASP Assistant Secretary General, for his part, conveyed President al-Assad’s greetings to the Democratic Korean President and people and expressed Syria’s appreciation of Democratic Korea’s support for the just Arab causes, particularly those of Palestine and the occupied Syrian Golan.

Al-Ahmar also voiced Syria’s support to Democratic Korea’s right to possessing peaceful nuclear energy for the development and progress of its society, and to unifying the Korean peninsula.

The meeting was attended by the two secretaries of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Democratic Korea and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
