Israel ‘stupid’ for striking Syria: Jalili

Secretary of Supreme National Security Commission says Israel has been stupid to attack Syria. He said that in meeting with Syrian prime minister.
Saeed Jalili and Vael al-Halqi discussed the outcome of a visit by Syrian officials to Iran, and highlighted the importance of pursuit of mutual agreements and acceleration and implementation of their agreements.

Dr. Vael al-Haqi, Syrian Prime Minister discussed bilateral ties with Jalili and explored ways to expand relations in line with both countries’ interests.

They talked about economic, trade, oil and gas, health, agriculture, and electricity issues.

Syrian Prime Minister pointed to Israel’s recent air strike on Syrian research center in Jamarya, saying “this strike was not just a strike only on Syrian people, but it also targeted Resistance against in whole region.”

Halqi also appreciated Iran’s position on standing with Syria and supporting it against challenges.

He provided Jalili with a report on Syrian government measures to implement political plan to solve the crisis, and negotiations with political and social groups to hold national dialogue.

Jalili welcomed political approach to solve the crisis and confirmed Iran’s support for this approach. He condemned Israeli strike on Syria, saying that “Israel has been stupid to attack Syria.”

The Secretary of Supreme National Security Council added that the strike revealed Israel’s aggressive nature and threat to security and stability in the region. Jalili expressed his hope that the crisis and conspiracy against Syria end.
