Syrian Forces Disband Terrorist Cell in Damascus

The Syrian security forces purged Damascus’s Rokn al-Balad district of terrorists and disbanded a major terrorist cell on Wednesday.
The security forces today arrested all members of a terrorist network who were planning to carry out sabotage operations in the Syrian capital, FNA dispatches said.

The Syrian forces also discovered and seized a large cache of weapons, explosives and bombs as well as maps of the locations that the terrorists were planning to bomb.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against the Syrian police, border guards, statesmen, army and civilians being reported across the country.

Thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes.

The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
