The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their large-scale offensive in southwest Daraa this morning, targeting the last areas under the control of ISIS affiliated Jaysh Khaled bin Walid forces.
Backed by heavy airstrikes from their Russian allies, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces steamrolled the remaining Jaysh Khaled bin Walid terrorists in the Yarmouk Basin region of southwest Daraa after pushing south from the recently liberated towns of Tal Jamou and Jaleen.
According to a military source in Daraa, the Syrian Arab Army liberated several areas from the Jaysh Khaled bin Walid terrorists, including the towns of Jamleh, Awad, and Abu Kharj.
The aforementioned towns are located at the western axis of the ISIS-held Yarmouk Basin region pocket in southwest Daraa.
As a result of this advance by the Syrian Arab Army on Saturday, ISIS is now in control of only 100 square kilometers of territory in the Yarmouk Basin region.
Furthermore, more than 200 Islamic State terrorists have been reportedly killed over the course of nine days, the Syrian Observatory for the Human Rights stated this morning.
With closed off borders behind them, ISIS is preparing to make their last stand at the mountains of southwest Daraa.
