Breaking- Yemeni Popular Forces Seize Saudi Airdropped Arms Cargo

Yemen’s popular Ansarullah fighters seized a huge weapons cargo airdropped by a Saudi military transportation plane for allied troops in the Southern province of Lahij on Monday.

According to FNA dispatches from Southern Yemen, the weapons supply was dropped by the Saudi planes in the vicinity of Al-End Air Base, where the Ansarullah and army forces repelled an attack by the Saudi-backed Al-Qaeda troops yesterday.

Earlier on Monday, Saudi-led coalition fighter jets targeted an army barracks in Yemen’s Ibb province, leaving scores of soldiers dead and injured.

Saudi warplanes staged sporadic bombing raids on residential areas in Sana’a, Amran and Ma’rib, killing dozens of people and injuring many more.

No report has yet been released on the precise number of casualties of the Saudi-led airstrikes.

Also, the Saudi strikes targeted residential areas in Arhab district on Monday, killing scores of civilians.

The Saudi warplanes also hammered a hospital in Yemen’s Ma’rib with their heaviest air strikes yet early on Monday, after the Ansarullah fighters gained new territory in the Southeastern province.

The exact number of the casualties has not been reported yet, but the massive attacks has reportedly claimed the lives of many civilians trapped inside the hospital and surrounding areas.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 19 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed over 1,042 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children. The attacks have also left more than 2,500 people injured.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

Five Persian Gulf States — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait — and Egypt that are also assisted by Israel and backed by the US declared war on Yemen in a joint statement issued on March 26.
