Afghan forces kill 46 Taliban militants

Nearly four dozen Taliban militants have been killed in clashes with Afghan forces across the war-ravaged country.

According to AFP, Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement on Monday that at least 46 militants were killed in the latest security operations in different provinces over the past 24 hours.
The statement read “In past 24 hours, Afghan National Police backed by the national army and the NATO-led coalition forces have conducted a series of operations in Kunar, Kapisa, Zabul, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktika and Herat provinces, which left 46 armed Taliban dead.”
At least seven militants have been wounded and 27 others made captive during the operations, the statement noted.
The authorities, however, did not mention whether there were any casualties on the side of Afghan or foreign forces.
