“FSA” Confirms Pullout from Aleppo’s Salaheddin

The so-called “Free Syrian Army” confirmed on Thursday that the insurgents had pulled out of Aleppo’s neighborhood of Salaheddin.

“The FSA has withdrawn from two streets where there has been fighting in recent days,” said a commander of the insurgents Hossam Abu Mohammed.

“The fighters are withdrawing to (nearby) Sukari district, where they are preparing a counter attack against the army,” AF news agency quoted Abu Mohammed as saying.

He said that a large number of militants were killed in the fierce clashes that have been taking place in the recent days.
The Syrian army has been staging an operation in Aleppo battle. On Wednesday, the army said it was fully controlling the neighborhood of Salaheddin, as it added that the militants were suffering heavy losses.

Syrian media reported that dozens of militants were arrested, including foreigners.

Meanwhile on Thursday, another FSA” commander in Salaheddin confirmed that the militants were staging a “tactical withdrawal”.
“We will open new fronts in Saif al-Dawla and Mashhad districts,” to the east of Salaheddin, said the FSA’s Wassel Ayub.
