Chavez: Imperialism fails to dominate world

Imperialist powers have failed to achieve their goal to dominate the world, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Monday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s welcoming ceremony.

“World nations advocate peace and justice; Iranian and Venezuelan governments will do their best to support human rights, their countries’ sovereignty as well as international peace unitedly; unfortunately hegemonic powers are more aggressive than the past and show unprecedented movements foolishly,” the Venezuela president said.

Chavez noted that Tehran and Caracas have never invaded any country but some other arrogant states have killed thousands of thousands of peoples in their invasions and nuclear bombardments.

The Venezuelan president said the Iranian and Venezuelan nations are victims of the superpowers’ greed, but are introduced by hegemonic powers’ propaganda machine as warmongers.

“We are engaged in a battle but battle is against poverty and backwardness,” Chavez expressed.

He stressed the need for further expansion of relations between Third World countries and the South-South countries.

The visiting Iranian president for his part stated that hegemonic system is at final moments of its life.
