Close Friends Russia, USA discuss situation in Syria

Moscow, The Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East Affairs Mikhail Bogdanov reviewed the situation in Syria with Deputy U.S. Secretary of State William Burns in Moscow on Monday, Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The Ministry’s statement added: “The focus was put on the task of speeding up conveying the crisis in Syria into the course of the political settlement through the international conference, Geneva 2, with the aim of implementing the Geneva statement issued last June 30, 2012.
