Commander Confident about Victory of Iranian Nation

A senior Iranian military commander expressed confidence about the final victory of the Iranian nation in the confrontation against enemies and hegemonic powers, given the Iranians’ high morale and spirit of resistance.
“A nation who holds faith and stands against the enemies’ bullets is victorious,” Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said, lauding the Iranian nation’s resistance against enemies.

Meantime, the commander underlined the influence of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution on the regional uprisings sweeping the Middle-East and North Africa, and said Iranians’ resistance and victory have become a source of inspiration and encouragement for the regional nations.

“The (wave of) Islamic awakening in the regional states is related to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Jihadi culture and action,” Firouzabadi stated.

In recent months, a wave of revolutions and anti-government uprisings has been sweeping the Arab and Muslim world.

In January, a revolution in Tunisia ended the 23-year ruling of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

In February, another Arab revolution led to the ouster of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak after three decades of his authoritarian rule.

Revolutions have also erupted in Libya, Yemen and Bahrain, while other anti-government unrests are spreading in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait and Algeria.

Political observers believe that people’s uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen and Libya are the result of growing “Islamic awakening” in the Middle-Eastern countries.

Late in April, The Leader of the Islamic Ummah And Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei underscored the profound and vast influence of Iran’s Islamic Revolution on the growing wave of Islamic awakening in the region, and voiced confidence about the desirable outcomes of the current popular uprisings.

“Thanks to Islam and Islamic Revolution, a public Islamic awakening has happened in the region today, which will definitely yield its results as it has already yielded its results in certain points,” The Leader of the Islamic Ummah And Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei said, addressing a group of Iranian people here in Tehran.

“The more the people’s determination, faith and readiness for sacrifice grow, the higher the chances of victory will be,” The Supreme Leader continued.

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah And Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei also stressed that recent developments in the region have surprised the US, European and Zionists, and warned that the arrogant powers have conspired plots to gain control over these developments.

As regards the outcomes of the recent Islamic awakening in the region, US, European and Zionists assured that “this movement will eventually serve the interests of the people of the region in future”.
