Commander: IRGC Navy Ready to Defend Iran’s Interests in Persian Gulf, High Seas

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri underlined his forces’ preparedness to safeguard Iran’s interests in the Persian Gulf and international waters.

“The brave IRGC Navy forces are vigilantly monitoring all enemy moves and are fully prepared to protect and defend the interests of the Islamic Republic in the Persian Gulf and high seas,” Rear Admiral Tangsiri said during a visit to the Iranian islands of the Greater Tunb and Bu Musa in the Persian Gulf on Tuesday.

During the visit, he stressed the need for increasing combat capability, vigilance and intelligence superiority of his forces in the geographical area and the surrounding environment of the mission zone.

Rear Admiral Tangsiri also paid a visit to the operational units of vessels, maritime, electronic warfare, engineering, command and control center and other relevant departments in the islands, and declared the latest effective operational tactics after reviewing the latest state of readiness and combat capability of the Naval forces.

In relevant remarks in April, Rear Admiral Tangsiri underlined his forces’ full preparedness to defend the Iranian territories, vowing a crushing response to any threat and aggression.

“We are ready for a quick and decisive response which makes the enemies regretful to any kind of threat and desperate plot at any level against the Islamic Republic and homeland,” Rear Admiral Tangsiri said.

Elsewhere, he also stressed the IRGC Navy’s preparedness to give services to the Iranian people during natural disasters and the coronavirus outbreak.

Also, in March, Commander of the Iranian Army’s Navy Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said that constant and powerful presence of Navy forces of both the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has deterred any aggression by enemies, as they know that any threat would receive a crushing response.

Khanzadi made the remarks in the meeting of synergy between the Army and IRGC Navies in the presence of a number of the both forces’ commanders.

“Security in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman is guaranteed by Army and IRGC Navy forces,” he said, adding that the enemies do not even think of aggression as they know that any threat will receive a crushing response by the Iranian youths.”

The commander underlined that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei is very satisfied with the harmony between Navy forces of the Army and IRGC.

“This harmony will avert any destabilizing measure by trans-regional interventionist forces,” Khanzadi stated, adding, “The convergence and synergy between the Army and IRGC Navies will thwart destabilizing measures of trans-regional countries and will safeguard security.”

Rear Admiral Tangsiri, for his part, said, “There is convergence, solidarity and unity between the Army and IRGC Navies from the highest to the lowest levels,” adding, “This synergy and integration is the source of honor for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Tangsiri stressed that the course of unity, solidarity and energy with the fellow-combatants will never stop, adding, “The enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have become dumfounded against this naval might.”

Army and IRGC Navy commanders signed a memorandum of understanding on intelligence, educational and research cooperation.
