Commander Salami: Navy possesses the ability to engage in operations globally
The top commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has praised the missile capabilities of the force, emphasizing their role in strengthening deterrence.

In a statement delivered during an event in Tehran on Monday, Major General Hossein Salami declared that their missiles possess the capability to target any adversary within the region and successfully bypass all enemy anti-missile defense systems.
He stated, “The strength previously exhibited at Ain al-Asad underscores our capability and determination to confront challenges. This strength serves as the foundation of our deterrence.”
The commander alluded to the Corps’ counterattacks targeting the US-held Ain al-Asad Airbase, located in Iraq’s western province of al-Anbar, on January 3, 2020. This retaliatory action was in response to the United States’ prior elimination of Iran’s former top anti-terror figure, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, and his associates in a drone strike at Baghdad International Airport.
“According to Salami, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy is currently equipped to engage adversaries in any location.”
The commander lauded the Corps as being “superior to all other forces,” asserting that “it is currently impossible to fully capture the immense magnitude of the IRGC.”
“The adversary will eventually perish, but the IRGC and the Islamic Republic’s Basij volunteer force will endure indefinitely,” he stated.
Significant Enhancements in IRGC’s Strength, Firepower, and Capabilities Announced
Salami announced that the Corps has made significant progress in advancing its weaponry and combat capabilities.
The Corps has significantly enhanced its arsenal and expertise, showcasing advanced weaponry and increased proficiency. It remains highly motivated to continue bolstering its strength and capabilities.
**IRGC Preemptively Engages Potential Adversaries, Asserts Official**
The commander stated that, since the triumph of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, the IRGC forces have consistently demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice their lives in defense of the country.
The warriors advanced towards the adversary and were guided by the teachings of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who instructed them to engage the enemy proactively, even before a formal conflict erupted.
General Salami highlighted the challenging phases the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has experienced since its formation in the aftermath of the Revolution’s success. He remarked, “The IRGC has evolved amidst significant events and engaged in combat even during its nascent stages, effectively shaping its identity through the crucible of conflict.”
He stated that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has come to disregard the superficial might of empires.
The commander stated that the nation’s adversaries were optimistic about ultimately dismantling the Corps and Basij. However, the IRGC, unfazed by the unpredictability of each conflict, entered the fray and achieved victory through meticulous planning and effective execution.
In a statement, Salami highlighted that the Corps remains a target of adversarial plots; however, he assured that opponents are confronting the formidable strength of their warriors.
Aerospace Force Presents Significant Obstacle for Adversaries, Experts Indicate
In outlining recent developments within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Commander Hossein Salami highlighted notable advancements achieved by both the Aerospace Division and the Quds Force, marking significant progress within these specialized units.
Speaking on the Aerospace Force, he stated, “The influence of this power is immediate, and adversaries observe its presence across all fronts.”
“Today, we are observing a limited application of this force’s capabilities, yet it has succeeded in altering global dynamics and poses a significant challenge to our adversaries.”
In his comments on the Corps’ Quds Force, he highlighted the unit’s tactical strategy, saying, “This force has successfully drawn the adversary from its strategic strongholds onto the battlefield. There, it has established strongholds of power at multiple locations, creating protective havens for the oppressed. Additionally, it has systematically weakened the adversary’s resources across extensive areas, leading to their gradual attrition.”
In a statement, Salami conveyed his appreciation to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, acknowledging the leader’s instrumental role in steering the force towards its achievements through his effective leadership and guidance.
“The Leader’s strategic guidance, rooted in wisdom and thoughtful planning, propels us in our fight against adversaries and discourages complacency. This is a blessing for which we must express gratitude.”
In other parts of his speech, the commander praised the resilience of regional resistance movements in enduring and overcoming a 16-month campaign of intense aggression orchestrated by the Israeli regime and its allies.
After a prolonged 16-month period of resistance, Palestinian groups continue to mobilize their efforts against Israel, initially fighting with rudimentary means such as stones. In Lebanon, Hezbollah has maintained a steadfast stance despite facing significant challenges, with its young members displaying notable resilience. Meanwhile, in Yemen, local forces have managed to counteract the influence of the United States and the United Kingdom.
