Conference on dialogue among Asian religions, cultures opens

The International Conference on Dialogue among Religions and Cultures in Asia kicked off in Tehran on Sunday morning.
The international event is attended by 46 scholars and intellectuals from 21 Asian states, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad-Baqer Khorramshad is to address the conference.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s message to the conference is also to be heard by the audience.

Delegates from Iran, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, India, Iraq, Japan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, South Korea, Philippine, Kuwait, China, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia and Turkey are attending the event.

The two-day International Conference on Dialogue among Religions and Cultures in Asia is aimed at reviewing cultural relations among the Asian nations. Globalization and Asian convergence will be among other topics to be discussed by the participants.
