Senior Cleric: Enemies Eyeing Disunity of Muslims

Addressing a congregation of people at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla (congregational prayers site), Ayatolallah Khatami said, the Sureme Leader’s valuable message must be analyzed at due time.

Ayatollah Khatami was referring to Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s message to Hajj pilgrimage who said, “Two things are considered the pillars of Hajj, one is remembrance (Dhikr ) and spirituality, and the other is the unity of Muslims.”

The senior cleric pointed out that the enemies are also looking to undermine these notions in Muslim countries, and said, “The enemies seek to diminish spirituality, and attention to God and reduce the unity among Muslims.”

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Ummah Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a message on Friday to the Hajj pilgrimage invited Muslims of the world to evade “disunity and division” while considering the Islamic awakening and resistance.

In a relevant developmet earlier on Friday, Ayatollah Khamenei in his message described the Hajj pilgrimage as a manifestation of Muslims’ “unity and harmony”, and said that the unity of the Muslim nation is one of the two basic foundations of the Hajj Pilgrimage.

Pointing to the “extensive” efforts of enemies to “weaken the two life-giving elixirs of Islamic unity and spirituality”, he named “promoting a western lifestyle” as a tool that enemies typically use.
