Syrian Official: Palestine Existential Cause in Syrian, Arab, Islamic Conscience

Assistant Information Minister, Dr. Khalaf al-Miftah, said that the Palestinian Cause is a moral and existential cause that lives in the Collective conscience of the Syrian, Arab and Islamic nations.

The remarks came during a political festival on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the al-Nakba Day (Day of the Catastrophe) at Dar al-Baath in Damascus on Saturday.

Al-Miftah stressed that celebrating anniversaries related to the Palestinian Cause is part of the Resistance, adding that “Israel is working to break our will and convert the Arab-Israeli conflict into a Palestinian-Israeli one”.

He added the events in Syria are aimed at destroying the Syrian Army and undermining the Resistance in the region to ensure the “security of Israel”, calling for the Arab countries and communities to confront the Zionist enemy.

For his part, Media Officer of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, Anwar Raja, said that the Palestinian Cause is suffering from attempts of decontextualizing and obliterating its historical and genuine essence throughout generations after over 65 years of sacrifices.

Raja added that “The Arab League is currently working on exchanging Palestinian lands with other Palestinian lands; such concessions are the result of the so-called “Arab Spring”, which made some Arabs happy with the Israeli aggression against Syria.”

“Palestine will never be victorious without Syria. The steadfastness and courage of the Syrian Arab Army have formed the gate of triumph for the Palestinians and the true Arab Spring,” he highlighted.

In turn, Chief of al-Alam TV channel Bureau in Damascus Hussein Murtada said that “Syria is fighting the USA and Israel in addition to many western and Arab countries. Syria will be victorious thanks to its people and army who are fighting for the dignity and glory of the Arab nation.”

He stressed that Palestine will always be supported by Syria, which will remain the capital of resistance with its people, army and president.
