Syrian Army soldiers have thus far driven terrorists out of over 60 percent of the key village of Ein al-Fijeh that is home to the main reservoirs of Damascus drinking water, a field source said Thursday.

The source said over sixty percent of the village of Ein al-Fijeh in Wadi al-Bardi region has been set free from terrorists, adding that the army men have reached nearby areas of Naba’a Ein, but a large number of terrorist snipers deployed in the region are slowing down the army’s advances.

The source added that the main reservoir of Damascus drinking water is in Ein al-Fijeh.

The source went on to say that the army soldiers are entering the region to carry out cleansing operation across the village.

The army troops continued their military operations against the terrorists in Western Ghouta and captured the strategic town of Ein al-Khazra in Wadi al-Bardi region on Sunday morning.

The winning back of Ein al-Khazra comes right after the Syrian army regained control of the strategic villages of Basima and Ein al-Fijeh in Wadi al-Bardi region.

The Syrian army’s advances came after killing tens of terrorists and fleeing of many others.
