Israeli forces shoot Palestinian protesters in al-Ram

Nine Palestinians have been injured near Ramallah when Israeli forces opened fire on demonstrators during a protest rally in al-Ram, using live and rubber bullets.
Dozens of protester also suffered tear-gas inhalation during the Friday clashes which occurred at the east entrance of al-Ram, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported.
Al-Ram is in an area of East al-Quds (Jerusalem) near Ramallah that is entirely surrounded by the Israeli-erected separation walls as well as the illegal Israeli settlements.
Three Palestinians were injured with live bullets that struck their legs and stomachs, while six others were hit with rubber-coated steel bullets in different parts of their bodies, according to medics at the Palestinian Medical Complex.
Moreover, dozens of Palestinian bystanders also suffered tear-gas inhalation.
The Israeli regime began building the separation wall in 2002, and the route has been the target of regular protest rallies waged by residents of border towns whose land has been cut off by the lengthy wall.
The Tel Aviv regime has further confiscated large plots of Palestinian land in order to erect the barrier, widely referred to as the apartheid wall. When the 435-mile barricade is complete, 85 percent of it will have been built inside the occupied West Bank.
More than 500,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in violation of international law. The internationally recognized Palestinian territories, which include the West Bank and East al-Quds, have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
In 2004 the International Court of Justice ruled that the separation wall was illegal and “tantamount to annexation.”
