Iran Foreign Minister Condemns Israel’s ‘Brutal Aggression’ in Conversations with Palestinian Resistance Leaders

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Minister, engaged in separate phone conversations with leaders of Palestinian resistance groups in order to discuss the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip, in light of the Israeli airstrikes.

On Friday, Amir-Abdollahian had a discussion with Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the political arm of Hamas, and Ziyad al-Nakhalah, the secretary-general of Islamic Jihad.

The Iranian minister voiced strong disapproval at Israel’s “brutal aggression” in the “targeted” assassination of resistance leaders, as well as the killing of innocent Palestinian women and children. He declared that the Zionists had exposed their own weakness and frustration in the face of Palestinian resistance.

Haniyeh declared that resistance groups are “prepared” and “cooperative” in the face of Israeli onslaughts. He additionally lauded Iran’s political backing of Palestine. “It is resistance that will decide the outcome of this Zionist aggression, and the Israeli government has no choice but to capitulate,” he stated.

Nakhalah declared that the Palestinians will persist in their struggle until the governing body accedes to the terms articulated by the resistance.

For the fourth day in a row, Israel has been engaging in airstrikes on Gaza, leading to the deaths of three Palestinians and the injury of 10 more on Friday.

Gaza’s Palestinian health ministry reported that 33 fatalities, including six children and three women, and more than 100 wounded people have been recorded thus far.

On Thursday, an Israeli in the city of Rehovot was killed and several others wounded by a Palestinian rocket. This marked the first rocket fire directed at al-Quds since the beginning of the current Israeli war on Tuesday. Israeli towns near the Gaza border were also targeted in renewed rocket attacks.

The militant group Islamic Jihad declared that they will not cease launching missiles at Israeli settlements and cities until the Israeli government ends its aggression and stops the policy of assassinating Palestinian leaders.

After more than a year of continuous Israeli aggression resulting in the death of over 140 Palestinians, the situation has escalated further, prompting international appeals for Israel to put a stop to its atrocities.

Since Benjamin Netanyahu returned to power last year as the head of a far-right coalition cabinet, the regime has become increasingly violent. This has led to international pleas for peace, with the European Union imploring for an instantaneous ceasefire.
