Syrian president to take part in presidential elections

The Syrian President, Bashar Assad, has emphasized on his participation in 2014 presidential election.

According to IRIB World Service, the Syrian media cited the Syrian president as saying that he is not after power but would not withdraw from the political scene. Bashar Assad added that the Syrians will specify who would be the Syrian president in 2014 presidential election.
Referring to the commencement of wide-scale reforms in Syria, the Syrian president added that these reforms manifest the welcome accorded by the Syrian administration to national talks with all political groups for resolution of the Syrian crisis.
