Foreign-backed Terrorists in Syria Receive New Shipment of Saudi Weapons

Reports disclosed that the notorious al-Nusra Front terrorist group in Syria has received a new shipment of arms from Saudi Arabia.
The Al-Nusra Front has received the weapons amid fierce clashes between Takfiri militants and the Syrian army in Damascus outskirts. Militant groups are said to be especially active in the districts of al-Qaboun and Barzeh North of the capital Damascus, Alalam reported.

A late June report by the Wall Street Journal said the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has begun transferring weapons to Jordan in order to arm insurgents in Syria.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal said on June 25 that Riyadh believes the al-Qaeda-linked groups in Syria should be armed, but weapons shipments to the Syrian government should be stopped.

Moreover, European Union foreign ministers meeting in Brussels in May reached an agreement to lift the arms embargo on the militants.
