Egyptian pres. candidate favors resumption of ties with Iran

Abdullah Al-Ashal, Egyptian presidential candidate and former assistant to Egypt’s foreign minister Amr Mousa, said on Wednesday that he would resume ties with Iran if elected as Egyptian president.

Al-Youm Al-Sabe’a website quoted Al-Ashal as saying, “That would not be wise for us to have ties with the US and Israel (the Zionist Regime) but have severed ties with Iran for 30 years. Meanwhile, our experts are now recommending us to resume ties with Iran.”
