Eid al-Fitr prayers led by Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed Imam Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as Ramadan Concludes

Muslims in Iran and numerous other countries are observing Eid al-Fitr, signaling the conclusion of the sacred fasting period of Ramadan, following the sighting of the new moon of the lunar month of Shawwal the previous evening.

In Tehran, the capital of Iran, a congregation assembled at Imam Khomeini’s Mosalla Grand Prayer Grounds to observe Eid al-Fitr prayers. The prayers were led by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

On Sunday night, the naqareh drums resonated through the revered precincts of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam, located in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.

Worshipers nationwide gathered early in the morning to participate in Eid prayers, marking the conclusion of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, following a month-long fast.

Eid al-Fitr, a significant religious festival for Muslims globally, signifies the end of the 29 or 30 days of fasting from dawn to sunset observed throughout the month of Ramadan.

The event is observed on the first day of the 10th lunar month, Shawwal, with its commencement depending on the sighting of the new moon by local religious authorities.

Eid al-Fitr is marked by a special Salat, an Islamic prayer, typically conducted in an open field or spacious hall, drawing together a large congregation for the observance.

In a message issued on Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian conveyed his warmest regards to the leaders and citizens of Muslim nations in celebration of Eid al-Fitr. He emphasized the importance of fostering greater unity and solidarity across the Muslim world.

Pezeshkian highlighted that Eid al-Fitr symbolizes the unity and strengthening of religious and social ties among Muslims.
