“Enemy’s pressures won’t change nation’s path”:The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday said a combination of idealism and realism has been the secret behind the progressive movement of Iranian nation and the Islamic system during the past 32 years.

According to IRNA, the Supreme Leader was addressing the officials of the country who were visiting him on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadhan.
Referring to various challenges in front of the Islamic Republic in the years after the Islamic Revolution, the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said the great potential of the Iranian nation caused the Islamic system to pass all these challenges successfully and be stronger in each new period.
Rejecting certain ideas that maintain idealism and realism do not move together, he said many ideals of the revolution are among the demands of people and so are part of objective realities of Iranian society.
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said national dignity, life based on Islamic faith, participation in the management of the country, all-out progress, economic independence, and having international prestige are among the demands of people, adding that these demands are exactly in the direction of the Revolution’s ideals and show that idealism does not contradict with down-to-earth realism.
Expounding on some existing realities, the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said confrontation of certain hegemonic powers with the Islamic Republic of Iran and their growing and sophisticated pressures is a reality which should not be ignored.
“These few arrogant governments possess political and economic abilities and try to show themselves as the international community using their efficient media and advertising machine but this is not real” said the Ayatollah.
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said the fact that challenges facing Iran now are not new is another reality.
“In a period of time, Iranian ships in the Persian Gulf were targeted and oil terminal and industrial centers were bombarded by the enemy but now they do not dare to get close to Iran.”
The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said crises in the western countries opposing Islamic Republic is another reality, adding the real danger of economic crisis in the European Union and Euro Zone, instability in some European countries, collapse of some European countries, budget deficit in the US and 99 percent Movement are important events which should not be ignored.
