Escalating Violence: Zionist Regime Operations Result in Numerous Casualties in Rafah

At least 23 Palestinians lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries when Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on displaced individuals who were waiting to receive aid in western Rafah.

According to reports from Palestinian media outlets, Israeli forces opened fire on displaced civilians en route to collect humanitarian aid in the western region of Rafah, within the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 23 Palestinians and injuries to 200 others on Tuesday.

This development follows an announcement by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, stating that the death toll of Palestinians near aid distribution centers has escalated to 75. This surge includes the deaths of 35 individuals reported on a single day, Sunday. Since May 27, over 400 people have sustained injuries in these regions, coinciding with the commencement of Israeli occupation efforts to designate specific areas for the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent has reported that an overnight airstrike by occupying forces targeted tents sheltering displaced families in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a child.

Occupation vehicles have reportedly opened fire towards eastern regions of Gaza City, as reported by our correspondent.

The incident represents a continuing pattern of attacks on Palestinians who are struggling to access aid amid a deadly famine imposed by Israel, leading to increased scrutiny and criticism from global humanitarian organizations.

On Sunday, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) issued a strong condemnation of the US-Israeli aid plan in Gaza, labeling it as “dehumanizing” and “ineffective,” and suggesting it could potentially constitute a crime against humanity. This comes amid an escalating humanitarian crisis in the region.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Secretary-General Christopher Lockyear has issued a strong rebuke of what he describes as the militarization of humanitarian aid efforts by the US-Israeli Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Lockyear contends that the project, which is set to streamline food distribution efforts in southern Gaza, is being leveraged to legitimize ongoing military actions and the forced displacement of Palestinians.
