Escalation in West Bank: Two Palestinians Reportedly Killed During Intensified Zionist Military Raids

At least two Palestinians have reportedly been killed by Israeli forces amid an expansion of raids across the occupied West Bank, occurring simultaneously with the ongoing conflict in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian Wafa news agency, which referred to security sources, 16-year-old Amjad Nassar Awad Hawshiya tragically died from his severe gunshot injuries on Tuesday morning. The injuries were sustained after he was shot by Israeli forces in central Ramallah.

Israeli forces conducted operations in several Palestinian residences on Rukab Street and in the Ein Misbah neighborhood, where they forcibly searched personal belongings and questioned several young men.

In the town of ad-Dhahiriya, situated 22 kilometers southwest of al-Khalil in the southern West Bank, a young Palestinian man was fatally shot by Israeli forces near the contentious separation barrier.

Security and local sources have informed Wafa that Israeli forces opened fire on Samer Bassam al-Zagharneh, a resident of Ar-Ramadin, leaving him critically injured.

Sources indicated that the Israeli forces subsequently returned the body of the young man to Palestinian medical personnel. The body was then transported to the morgue of Dura Governmental Hospital.

Israel has intensified its military operations against Palestinians in the West Bank following the onset of a large-scale conflict with the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023.

Since the onset of the conflict, hundreds of Palestinians have lost their lives, with thousands more sustaining injuries, at the hands of Israeli settlers or military forces throughout the occupied territories.

Over 700,000 Israelis reside in more than 230 settlements established following the 1967 occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The international community considers the settlements illegal under international law and the Geneva Conventions, as they are built on occupied territories.
