Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Seizes Terrorists’ Key Base in Dara’a

The army men, backed up by artillery units and Air Force, stormed terrorists’ strongholds in the town of Busra al-Harir in Eastern Dara’a and captured the town.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army troops continued to strike terrorists’ positions in Eastern Dara’a on Tuesday, liberating the small but key town of Busra al-Harir, a main stronghold of the militants in the region.

The army men, backed up by artillery units and Air Force, stormed terrorists’ strongholds in the town of Busra al-Harir in Eastern Dara’a and captured the town.

Also, the army men managed to gain control over the village of Maliha al-Atash after killing and wounding a large number of terrorists.

Local sources reported that terrorists’ supply line between Northeastern Dara’a and Southeastern Dara’a have been cut off after the army advances.

The sources said that the army intends to advance in Azra’a region to reach other government forces in the region to lay siege on the terrorists.

Raqqa

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) cracked down on bases of Liwa al-Thowar al-Raqqa, another US-backed militant group, in Raqqa on Tuesday and arrested 200 gunmen following intensified tensions between Washington-backed militia groups in Northeastern Syria.

The SDF stormed bases and positions of Liwa al-Thowar al-Raqqa in the Raqqa city and its outskirts and captured a sum of 200 gunmen.

In the meantime, the SDF arrested tens of villagers in the villages of al-Adnaniyeh, al-Rafeqa and al-Ansar, accusing them of supporting the Damascus government.

Local sources said that unprecedented tensions have covered the region due to the SDF measures.

Sweida

Gaps further widened among terrorists in the provinces of Sweida and Dara’a on Tuesday over endorsing the Syrian army’s reconciliation plan amid the rapid advances by government troops in the South.

Terrorist groups in the Southern part of the country threatened civilians and prevented them from handing over the regions to the Syrian Army and implementing peace agreement.

In the meantime, local sources said that terrorist front in Dara’a and Sweida has collapsed following advances of the army in the region.

The sources said that the terrorists launched missile and artillery attacks on residential areas in Dara’a and Sweida, killing and wounding eight civilians in Southwestern Sweida.

Lattakia

Modern Russian man-portable anti-tank guided missiles on Kornet-D has been deployed in Northern Lattakia to be used in the Syrian Army’s upcoming anti-terrorism operation in Idlib province, a media outlet reported on Tuesday.

The Arabic-language website of Sputnik quoted military sources as reporting that the Syrian Army, deployed in Northern and Northeastern Lattakia, has received modern Russia-made Kornet weapons.

The army will use the new system to trace and track military vehicles and militants’ gathering, Sputnik said, adding that the new system is capable of penetrating 1,300 mm into armored vehicles.

The missile system can track the target up to 10km, Sputnik said, adding that the system will be deployed in the entire battlefields in Lattakia and Hama, so, military vehicles of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) will come within the range of the system’s laser missiles.
