Yemeni Forces Successfully Down Another US MQ-9 Drone

Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that they successfully downed an American MQ-9 drone in the western city of Al Hudaydah.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Thursday the downing of a second U.S. MQ-9 drone over the airspace of Al Hudaydah Governorate, according to reports from the Lebanon-based news outlet Al Mayadeen.

A statement revealed that this marks the second drone neutralized within the last 72 hours and the seventeenth successfully intercepted by air defenses as part of the ‘Promised Conquest and Sacred Struggle’ initiative in support of Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have reiterated their steadfast commitment to resisting any actions aimed at compromising their nation’s sovereignty. In a statement, they asserted their resolve, alongside the resilient Yemeni populace, to maintain operations in support of Gaza, stating that these efforts will continue until the aggression against Gaza concludes and the blockade is lifted.

In a follow-up statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces reported that various divisions of their military executed a joint assault on the U.S. aircraft carrier “Truman” and its escorting warships in the northern Red Sea.

According to the statement, in response to perceived American hostility, Yemen’s naval forces, drone units, and missile command executed an unprecedented coordinated operation. The operation involved the deployment of cruise missiles and drones aimed at the U.S. carrier “Truman” along with other adversarial vessels in the area.

U.S. airstrikes have persisted in Yemen, with reports indicating that American warplanes have conducted 27 bombings in Saada province within the last 12 hours.

A news outlet has reported that an American armed reconnaissance aircraft carried out a strike on a vehicle in the Majaz area of Saada, located in northern Yemen.
