Speaking before the United Nations Security Council Media Stakeout in New York on Friday, the senior diplomat asserted, “The global community must unite to halt this ruthless entity, as malevolent as Hitler himself.”
In a series of statements made during the ongoing conflict, the regime’s genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip since October and the lethal escalation against Lebanon have resulted in significant casualties. Reports indicate that at least 41,534 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza, while the violence has also claimed the lives of several hundred Lebanese. The majority of the victims in these regions are women and children.
Araghchi expressed disappointment over the Security Council’s inaction in halting the ongoing violence.
The individual attributed the failure to “the United States and certain other Western nations displaying a disregard for the lives of those in our region and undermining peace and stability in the Middle East.”
“The official stated that Israel, bolstered by unwavering United States support, is now escalating its actions towards Lebanon.”
Earlier today, he referenced the regime’s assault on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals, left approximately 80 others injured, and caused the complete destruction of seven buildings.
Araghchi highlighted that multiple 5,000-pound bunker buster bombs, provided by the United States, were employed in a heavily populated civilian area of Beirut.
“The regime appears increasingly intent on instigating widespread turmoil across the region.”
The official called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene in halting the regime’s activities, and urged the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for Prime Minister Netanyahu and his key associates.
He reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s unwavering support for the Lebanese population and their resistance against Israeli aggression.
