Iran ranked seventh in Nanotechnology in 2013

The head of Iran’s Regional Information Center for Science and Technology (RICST), Ja’far Mehrdad, has said that Iran is now ranked 7th in the world in the field of nanotechnology.

According to IRIB World Service, Ja’far Mehrdad, head of Iran’s Regional Information Center for Science and Technology (RICST), speaking on Sunday, talked of the latest world rankings of countries in the field of nanotechnology. He said: “Iran, which stood 35th in the world in terms of scientific output in nanotechnology in 2005, has now moved up to 7th place in the world in 2013.
Mehrdad added: “Last year, Iran was ranked first in nanotechnology among Islamic countries, and also among Middle Eastern countries.”
He further reiterated: “From 2011-2013, China was ranked first in the world in terms of scientific output in nanotechnology and, United States and South Korea were ranked second and third respectively.”
