Army, Iran’s powerful arm: Vice-speaker

Vice-speaker of Iran’s Majlis called the Iranian army as the “powerful arm of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

According to IRIB, Seyyed Mohammad Hassan AbuTorabi Fard said on Wednesday, “During 34 years after the triumph of the Islamic revolution, Iranian armed forces, especially the army, have functioned in all scenes of the Islamic system as a powerful arm.
Stating that the Iranian army learnt the message of Imam Khomeini and the Islamic teachings to prepare the ground for the overthrow of the despotic regime, the vice-speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) added, “The foreigners and their affiliates thought of annihilation of the army but they failed against the Iranian nation’s will.”
The Iranian top legislator also said, “The army and [other] armed forces of the Islamic republic of Iran are the firm support and fortress of the Iranina nation to enhance security and defence power of the government and the nation.”
