Repairs underway at Aleppo power plant after militants sabotage machinery: video

The restoration of Aleppo’s main thermal power plant was underway, Wednesday, as engineers attempted to bring power back to the Syrian city, after militants sabotaged its machinery.

According to the Deputy General Director of the site Gais Al-Ahmar, five generators have been completely destroyed. Al-Ahmar stated that militants had thrown explosives into the equipment, causing severe damages, which staff were trying to repair.

“We are trying now to conduct some sort of talks with friendly countries, such as Russia, China, and the Islamic Republic of Iran and hope that something will turn out,” he concluded.
