Foreign Ministers of Iran and Russia Meet in Moscow

The Iranian and Russian Foreign Ministers have met and conferred in Moscow, discussing a range of issues, including bilateral ties, regional security and fighting terrorism.
According to an IRIB report, the Iranian foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a meeting on Tuesday with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, emphasized that Iran and Russia will consult and exchange views on a wide range of issues, including regional security and combating terrorism. The meeting took place in Moscow, prior to the summit of the five foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea littoral states.
In further remarks, Zarif said a number of topics of importance will be discussed in the foreign ministerial summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states , and he expressed hope that a heads of state summit of the five Caspian Sea littoral states which will be held in Astrakhan , Russia , next autumn will be successful.
For his part, the RussianForeign Minister, Sergei Lavrov said this is an excellent opportunity to discuss a range of issues with the Iranian foreign minister. He also called for expansion of cooperation and trade between Tehran and Moscow.
